Cat Scan (CT) Technician, Acute

About the role

A Cat Scan (CT) Technician joining our team at Centerpoint Health-Winchester is part of a dedicated team committed to making communities healthier. This role involves providing computed tomography (CT) imaging, educating patients, and maintaining quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides computed tomography (CT) imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.
• Educates patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes imaging results, identifies quality issues, and takes corrective action, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if needed.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions.
• Maintains equipment and supplies; implements safety standards and performs quality control checks.
• Works flexible shifts/units as needed.

Requirements

• Two-year certification.
• Education: Two-year certificate, Associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
• Certifications: Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology and Computed Tomography; BLS required.

Qualifications

• Experience: Must have relevant experience.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
