About the role

The Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in UVA’s School of Education seeks applicants for multiple wage Data Collector positions. The Data Collector assists with field-based activities of multiple CASTL projects, as assigned, which typically include 1:1 direct student assessment, data entry, and data upload using project guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with field-based activities of multiple CASTL projects, as assigned
  • Assesses students one-on-one
  • Data entry and data upload using project guidelines
  • Travel to participating schools using own reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed)

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • One year of experience working with children in an educational setting or an out-of-school setting (such as a summer camp or an after-school program)
  • Availability minimum of 3 full days (8am-3pm) per week is preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Education, or related field preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse population
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot technology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Proficiency with laptops, tablets and/or PCs
  • Experience uploading/downloading information using cloud storage platforms

Pay

Anticipated pay ranges from $18-22 per hour.

Schedule

The position may be listed as remote because it is not on campus at UVA. Availability minimum of 3 full days (8am-3pm) per week is preferred.

  • Limited to 1500 hours of work in a year
