This is an hourly or wage position contributing to a range of tasks in education research, including data collection, documentation, transcription, coding, data processing, and preliminary data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate research tasks and timelines with senior and junior team members to keep projects on track
- Manage and maintain datasets, including cleaning, formatting, and preparing data for analysis
- Train, guide, and check the work of junior team members on data collection and coding tasks
- Conduct preliminary data analysis and summarize findings for the research team
- Maintain documentation of data procedures, coding decisions, and workflows
- Uphold data confidentiality and research ethics standards, particularly when handling sensitive or minor-related data
- Develop and maintain documentation of data processing procedures and analytic preparation, including project data dictionaries, to ensure consistency and reproducibility across the team
- Communicate progress, flag issues, and troubleshoot data-related problems with the team
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree
- 1+ years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social sciences, or a related field
- At least 3 years prior experience in an education research setting
- Familiarity with the research data lifecycle: collection, entry, cleaning, coding, and preliminary analysis
- Experience conducting or supporting data collection in school or classroom settings
- Observational coding, transcription, or qualitative data handling
- Understanding of research ethics and data confidentiality practices (e.g., working with data involving minors or human subjects)
- Proficiency with data management and analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, R, Dedoose, or Stata
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, cleaning, and coding
- Experience following structured protocols and coding schemes consistently
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Clear communication skills for coordinating with team members and study participants
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically proficiency in Word and Excel
Pay
Hourly rate: $22.40–$27
Schedule
This is a wage position limited to 1,500 hours of work in a year and is not eligible for leave or other benefits. Anticipated start date: mid-August 2026.
Physical Demands
Most of the work is performed in an office environment.
