About the role
Malco Theatres is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team at Desoto Cinema Grill. We offer a variety of positions including Box Office Cashier, Concession Attendant, and Ushers/Doormen.
Responsibilities
- Box Office Cashier:
- Cheerfully greets patrons.
- Provides movie, special event, and general theatre information.
- Accurately sells tickets, accepts payments, and makes change.
- Operates Point of Sale terminals and ticket printers.
- Operates and effectively communicates on a two-way radio.
- Follows MPA film rating guidelines when selling admission tickets.
- Follows theatre policies for selling admission tickets.
- Answers the telephone courteously and professionally.
- Maintains and cleans Box Office area.
- Concession Attendant:
- Serves prepackaged food and drink.
- Maintains the concession area in a sanitary condition.
- Provides services to customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Maintains adequate food/supplies.
- Cleans concession, including serving area continually.
- Uses popper to prepare popcorn as needed and attend concession equipment.
- Cleans concession area before and after business hours.
- Maintains the appearance of all equipment and serving counters.
- Assures menu items are prepared in sufficient quantities to satisfy volumes.
- Receives deliveries when assigned.
- Ushers/Doormen:
- Collects admission tickets.
- Directs patrons to correct auditoriums.
- Helps maintain clean facilities such as lobbies, hallways, auditoriums, and restrooms.
- Greet patrons, assist patrons with general questions or refer the patron to a member of management for assistance.
- Provides services to customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Manage crowd control and assist patrons in finding seating when necessary.
- Cleans and inspects auditoriums.
- Aid patrons with special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs.
- Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules.
- Assist patrons with questions or complaints.
- Inspect backpacks and packages when applicable.
Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and possess a valid driver's license. Previous retail or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to communicate clearly and interact with the public.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of theatre operations and policies.
