Located at each of the seven colleges, Wellness Centers provide best-practices mental health and psycho-social services to students, faculty, and staff including crisis intervention, case management, counseling, support groups, and wellness education.

About the Role

Reporting to the Clinical Director - Wellness Center, a Case Manager-Wellness Center (Level II) provides counseling, case management, and outreach services to students, faculty, and staff. Assists with the clinical supervision and training of intern trainees and contributes to the operations of the Wellness Center. Participates in promoting a holistic plan of health and wellness initiatives for CCC students.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and group psychotherapy and other direct clinical interventions to a diverse student population across a broad range of presenting issues.
  • Prepares and plans for therapy sessions; completes clinical documents in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Conducts best-practices crisis assessment and intervention; arranges emergency psychiatric assessment as needed.
  • Meets with walk-in clients to assess immediate or emergency needs and provides crisis counseling and intervention services.
  • Provides referrals to appropriate health and social service agencies for additional services as required.
  • Offers short-term counseling and coaching to address stress, time management, and organizational issues.
  • Serves as a consultant to college staff and faculty on student development, behavioral threat assessment, and classroom management.
  • Plans, develops, and implements educational and prevention outreach programs, especially for underserved populations, demonstrating cultural responsiveness.
  • Conducts workshops and professional development on topics such as Mental Health 101, stress management, violence prevention, and veterans’ issues.
  • Utilizes the Counseling Center Assessment Psychological Symptoms (CCAPS) to assess mental health needs and monitor progress.
  • Represents the Wellness Center and advocates for mental health and wellness on college-related committees.
  • Creates and maintains a professional, welcoming environment for individuals visiting the Wellness Center.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (M.S.W.); OR a Master’s degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed.) in Counseling Psychology or another clinical mental health field.
  • Must be currently working toward licensure by the State of Illinois as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Clinical Psychologist.
  • Counseling experience in a student counseling center within an urban commuter college or university is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy, case management, and coordinated care techniques.
  • Knowledge of treatment principles, modalities, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with community resources and social service agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with and relate to a culturally diverse student body, faculty, and staff.

Pay

Salary range: $69,545.00 - $76,499.50 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Schedule

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within 6 months of hire.
