About the role

The Carrier Compliance Specialist maintains the integrity and efficiency of carrier data within the organization’s TMS systems. This role involves entering and managing carrier profiles, including the creation of SCACs (Standard Carrier Alpha Codes), to ensure accurate tracking and system integration. It also includes ongoing maintenance of the carrier database to support operational accuracy and compliance, along with administrative support through report management, correspondence handling, and data entry tasks related to carrier operations.

This position is based in eShipping’s Maryland Heights, MO office. After initial training, the role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the office and two days from home. The normal shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Carrier Entry and SCAC Creation: Enter carriers into the Jaguar system and create SCACs (Standard Carrier Alpha Codes) to ensure proper tracking and system integration.
• Carrier Database Maintenance: Perform regular updates and maintenance on the internal carrier database to ensure accuracy and efficiency in operations.
• Administrative Support: Manage reports, correspondence, and data entry tasks related to carrier operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; industry experience is not required but highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently while balancing collaboration with leadership oversight.
• Excellent customer service, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, both in person and via phone.
• Ability to use sound, independent judgment and make responsible decisions and recommendations.
• Excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Word, Excel, and TMS systems.
• Ability to work with a variety of people and personality styles.
• Capability to work in a climate-controlled, fast-paced team environment, primarily sedentary with long periods at a computer terminal; ability to work overtime as needed.
• Strong ability to persuade and positively influence others.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Physical Demands: The role is primarily sedentary, requiring the employee to remain stationary for at least 50% of the time. Occasional movement inside the office is needed to access file cabinets and office machinery. The employee must operate a computer and other office equipment, with some repetitive motions of the hands, arms, and wrists. Specific vision abilities are required to assess and observe various activities and surroundings.
• Cognitive/Mental Requirements: The employee must comprehend and use basic written or spoken language to communicate information. The role involves using logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and interpret data for unique or unfamiliar situations. Problem-solving skills are needed to formulate appropriate courses of action. Basic to complex numerical operations may be required.
