Responsibilities
- Performs selective demolition and salvage.
- Erects and dismantles scaffolding and staging.
- Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
- Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, cementitious products, drywall, and other trade materials.
- Uses various hand and power tools to properly and securely complete tasks.
- Joins materials with the most appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
- Ensures the accuracy of work by checking with appropriate tools of the trade.
- Installs windows, doors, and hardware.
- Installs millwork and casework.
- Install exterior siding and trim.
- Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
- Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
- Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
- Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
- Ability to work safely to OSHA and Company standards.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Ability to recognize the impact of work on occupied dwellings or neighbors to a project and plan work accordingly to minimize negative impacts.
- Ability to maintain organized workspaces that maximize efficient use of time, manpower, and materials.
- Ability to work in a clean and professional manner and maintain a high level of quality control in workmanship.
- Ability to work with other trades to coordinate seamless installation.
- Familiar with basic wood and material knowledge to understand and choose the appropriate and proper quality of materials.
- Ability to communicate professionally about tasks to problem solve or develop resolutions to installation concerns.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program.
- OR at least three years of experience via on-the-job training required.
- Must have OSHA 10-Hour (30-Hour preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
- Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must have drivers license and own transportation.
