Carpenter Foreman
About the role
Csec is seeking a Carpenter Foreman in Greensboro, NC. This role involves working closely with project managers and supervisors, supervising a team, inspecting work sites, and coordinating with other construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Work closely and cooperatively with Project Manager, Project Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Engineer to ensure project goals are met.
- Schedule and assign work to employees based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and compliance with Christman policies.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine construction requirements or plan procedures.
- Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
- Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions.
- Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
- Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment.
- Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or coordinate activities.
- Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
- Address employee questions/comments and provide input to superiors regarding employee performance.
- Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.
Requirements
- Five (5) or more years of relevant work experience or proven established work history for the position.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a supervisory role, including previous experience in Foreman roles.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Handbags and all necessary hand tools.
- Experience in rough and finish carpentry and general trades work.
- Experience in concrete construction including formwork erection, rebar installation and concrete placing and finishing activities.
- Experience in setting case and millwork.
- Experience in architectural doors and hardware (commercial).
- Able to maintain open communication and confidentiality.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Problem-solving abilities.
