Caregivers Full time 7am to 3pm

About the role

Oaks Senior Living is seeking a Care Partner / Caregiver for their Oaks at Ellijay Senior Living Community in Ellijay, GA. The position offers flexible shifts including day, second, and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents with respect and kindness, building positive relationships
• Provide individualized physical, psychological, and social support
• Assist with activities of daily living such as showering, toileting, dressing, transferring, and walking
• Encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room, assist with serving, and help with individual needs
• Observe and report changes in appetite or physical ability to eat and drink
• Absorb and report any changes in the condition of residents and protect confidentiality of personal and medical information
• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work environment, including residents' apartments
• Follow infection control policies and safety precautions

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to learn and follow current federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Pass a background check
• Pass a drug screening
• Pass a physical exam by a licensed physician
• Strength needed to frequently support up to 70 pounds and occasionally carry up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to obtain 24 hours of continuing education in the initial year of employment and 16 hours annually
• Maintain CPR & first aid certification
• Passion for working with Elders
• Experience in caregiving to Elders preferred but not required

Desired qualities include a friendly and caring disposition, quick and effective reaction in emergencies, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.

Pay

The starting hourly rate is $12.00-$13.25, depending on experience.

Schedule

We are open 24/7 and offer shifts including day shifts from 7 am - 3 pm, second shifts from 3 pm - 11 pm, and night shifts from 11 pm - 7 am. Some weekends are required.
