Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers across 14 cities in Summit County. This is a calling for those who genuinely care about the elderly community.
What Your Day Looks Like
- You drive to someone’s home.
- You help them with daily life activities such as baths, getting dressed, making meals, light cleaning, and running errands.
- You keep them company.
- Most clients are older adults who need assistance to stay independent.
- This work involves physical labor, including helping people move around and being on your feet most of the day.
- If you need help performing these tasks, you should communicate with the agency.

This work is demanding and requires a strong commitment. Think carefully before applying. If you decide to apply, you’ll need to disclose your travel limits, pet policies, and other preferences during your phone interview.
What You'll Earn
- $18/hour for STNA license (active or expired).
- $16-18/hour for HHA certificate or experience, based on interview.
- $16/hour for free training pathway.
- $19-20/hour for caring for a private pay client.
Shift Lengths
Shifts can vary from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, depending on the client’s needs. Most caregivers work with 2-4 regular clients each week, building long-term relationships.
How We Verify Your Experience
We verify your experience by contacting your former employer directly to confirm your dates of employment and that your supervisor was an RN or LPN. If your former employer uses a third-party verification service, we cannot use this method for you. In such cases, you may need to apply under Option 2 (HHA certificate) or Option 4 (free training).
Four Ways to Get Started
- STNA (fastest): Apply with your STNA license number. Timeline: 1-3 days if you move fast.
- HHA certificate: Apply and send your certificate. Timeline: 5-8 days to working.
- Experience under a licensed nurse: Apply and provide your former employer’s details. Timeline: 5-8 days after verifying your experience.
- Free training: Brand new caregivers. Timeline: 1-2 weeks to working.
Compensation
- Starting at $16/hour.
- Raises based on performance: 90-day review (+$0.50/hour), 1-year review (+$0.50/hour), 2-year review (+$1.00/hour).
- Extra money:
- $100 after 30 days with perfect attendance.
- $300 when you refer a caregiver who stays (60 hours worked, $200 more at 200 hours).
- $75-$1,500 when you refer a private pay client, based on their hours.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle with insurance covering work driving.
- Available between 6AM-8PM.
- Legal right to work in the US.
- Pass background checks.
- Pass the competency test (written questions and skills demonstration).
