About the role

Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers across 14 cities in Summit County. This is a calling for those who genuinely care about the elderly community.

What Your Day Looks Like

  • You drive to someone’s home.
  • You help with daily life activities such as baths, dressing, making meals, light cleaning, and running errands.
  • You keep them company.
  • Most clients are older adults needing assistance to stay independent.
  • This work involves physical activity and being on your feet most of the day.
  • If you need help with tasks, you can discuss what works best.
  • You do not give medicine or handle medical tasks; those are for nurses.

Before You Apply

Home care is not just a job; it’s a calling. This work is for those who genuinely care about the elderly community, not just those chasing a paycheck. Vulnerable clients depend on you showing up, and quitting can impact their ability to stay independent.

What You'll Earn

  • $18/hour for STNA license (active or expired).
  • $16-18/hour for HHA certificate or experience, based on interview.
  • $16/hour for free training pathway.
  • $19-20/hour for caring for a private pay client.

How Your Day Looks

Your shifts can vary from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, depending on the client's needs. You typically work with multiple clients across different days to meet your 20+ hours/week goal. Flexibility is key, but punctuality and reliability are crucial.

Guarantee

We guarantee that if you can travel anywhere we have clients and work with any client, you will start working. We always have clients available, and if there's no immediate match in your area, you're first in line when one opens up.

Reality

While we respect your limits, your client availability will be smaller if you set strict travel or time limits. If you commit to your limits during the phone interview, we expect you to follow them.

Starting at $16/hour

  • After 90 days: $16.50/hour.
  • After 1 year: $17.00/hour.
  • After 2 years: $18.00/hour.

Raises

  • Based on performance: 90-day review (+$0.50/hour), 1-year review (+$0.50/hour), 2-year review (+$1.00/hour).
  • Miss one review and it carries over to the next.

Bonuses

  • $100 after 30 days with perfect attendance.
  • $300 when you refer a caregiver who stays (60 hours worked: $100, 200 hours: $200).
  • $75-$1,500 when you refer a private pay client, based on their hours.

Four Ways to Get Started

  • Option 1: STNA (fastest) — $18/hour. Active or expired license — both work. Timeline: 1-3 days if you move fast.
  • Option 2: HHA certificate — $16-18/hour based on interview. Certificate must be 30+ hours, signed by RN (unless completed online). Timeline: 5-8 days to working.
  • Option 3: Experience under a licensed nurse — $16-18/hour based on interview. No certificate needed. Timeline: 5-8 days after verifying your experience.
  • Option 4: Free training — $16/hour. No experience needed. Timeline: 1-2 weeks to working.

What You Build Here

  • Your pay — through performance-based raises.
  • Your clients — same people, real relationships.

  • Pass background checks.
  • Available between 6AM-8PM (most work is 8AM-5PM).

  • At least 18 years old.

What You Don’t Have

  • No PTO — time off is unpaid.
  • No 401k.
  • No health insurance.
