SUMMARY OF POSITION ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES: The BCS Career Coach serves as a key point of contact for business students within the Warrington College of Business in providing career planning, advising, and coaching assistance, and will be instrumental in the direct placement of our business students into internships and full-time employment. Key responsibilities include one-on-one career advising and broad-based career management support. This includes assisting each student to develop and continually refine a realistic job search strategy/marketing plan for both internship and full-time employment, actively monitoring each student's progress against career goals, and guiding, assisting and holding students accountable in the achievement of those goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Serve as a key point of contact for Warrington College of Business undergraduate students in providing one-on-one career planning, advising, and coaching assistance. This includes resume and cover letter critiquing, mock interview critiquing, career assessment assistance, and job/internship offer negotiation assistance.Aids in maintaining quantitative and qualitative records for various types of interactions for assessment and reporting purposes that demonstrate impact. Records include such things as student appointments per month and overall student engagement, along with responsibilities for tracking and reporting on student internship placement. Partner with Career and Peer Mentor (CAP) team to facilitate external career development programming. In addition to CAPS, also collaborate with Business College Council (BCC) inclusive of outreach and advising student organizations.Responsible for the creation and delivery of career development workshops/seminars for both large and small groups of business students, along with participating as a team member in special events such as career fairs, advisory board meetings and professional development events. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of experiential learning trends and best practices.Maintains relationships with Heavener academic advising team to increase student engagement with BCS and to collaborate on successful student outcomes. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCEMinimum Qualifications:Strong customer focus (ability to listen attentively to students and recruiters and to understand and respond positively to their requests is requiredMaster's Degree required and two (2) years of professional experience (minimum) in any of the following functional areas of business such as marketing, management, finance, information technology, sales, retail, career and professional development, career counseling, corporate/campus recruiting, or human resources.Experience working inclusively with diverse populationsKnowledge of industry relations, employment trends, student development, career services a plus.Ability to work independently along with the ability to work collaboratively across the team. An entrepreneurial orientation, proven track record of taking initiative and making things happen (i.e. self-starter)Excellent resume, interviewing and job search skillsHighly proficient with web-based resources, spreadsheet and presentation software required (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Excel)Ability to work under pressure, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and fluctuating workloadsStrong organizational work skills, defining tasks, prioritizing assignments, and following through on all projects independently
