Job Summary

The Career Services Coach position involves providing ongoing career development and employability coaching to active students, graduates, and alumni through various methods such as classroom presentations, workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and professional assessments. The role also includes scheduling and conducting mock interviews, providing feedback, contacting unplaced graduates, assisting with resume writing, and offering job search guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound connect activity to ensure ongoing communication with graduates
  • Provide guidance to students and graduates while maintaining professional standards
  • Coordinate and conduct scheduled resume preparation, interview techniques, job search/research, and other professional development sessions
  • Collect graduate employment qualifications and criteria to determine the employment assistance path required
  • Offer availability and opportunities for One-on-One coaching sessions with students and graduates
  • Aid in proactive job search efforts by providing job leads, resources, and online application assistance
  • Support community and employer outreach to identify employment opportunities
  • Maintain organization of student records and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies
  • Document in CampusVue all correspondence between the department and student/graduate
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with school information
  • Participate and plan ongoing student engagement activities
  • Assist with Externship responsibilities when required
  • Participate in various school events as required
  • Master proficiency with MS Office

Experience and Education Required

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • One year of work experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, counseling, or business
  • One year of experience in career / employability training
  • One year of experience in staffing or career placement
  • One year of call center experience
  • One year of interviewing experience

Experience and Education Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • One year of experience in career / employability training
  • One year of experience in staffing or career placement
  • One year of call center experience
  • One year of interviewing experience

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell
