Career Services Coach
About the role
The Career Services Coach provides ongoing career development and employability coaching to active students, graduates, and alumni through classroom presentations, workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and professional assessments. This role collaborates with the Director of Career Services, Business Solutions Consultants, and other staff to assess student progress, conduct mock interviews, provide resume assistance, and offer job search guidance. The coach ensures timely and accurate documentation in CampusVue and tracks unplaced graduates' employment criteria needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound communication to maintain ongoing contact between graduates and the team.
- Provide guidance to students and graduates while maintaining high professional standards.
- Coordinate and conduct resume preparation, interview techniques, job search, and professional development sessions.
- Collect graduate employment qualifications to determine the appropriate employment assistance path.
- Offer one-on-one coaching sessions for students and graduates.
- Assist in proactive job search efforts by providing job leads, resources, and online application support.
- Conduct community and employer outreach to identify employment opportunities in students' chosen fields.
- Support team efforts in completing employment verification documents and accurate data entry.
- Maintain organized student records to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies.
- Document all correspondence with students/graduates in CampusVue.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding school, student, and regulatory information.
- Participate in student engagement activities and school events.
- Assist with externship responsibilities as required.
- Achieve proficiency with MS Office and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication, or a related field from an accredited institution, or comparable work experience.
- 1 year of experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, counseling, or business.
- Experience developing community connections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to customer service and public presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers and teammates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in career/employability training, staffing, or career placement.
- 1 year of call center or interviewing experience.
Physical Demands
The role occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
Work Environment
The work environment is typically indoors with moderate noise levels and minimal exposure to weather conditions.
Schedule
- Monday through Thursday: 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
