Career and Technical Education Teacher- Water Management Systems

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop and execute lesson plans that lead toward student achievement of competencies in the area of expertise.
• Develop and update, as needed, the curriculum for the content program.
• Prepare orders for the purchase of supplies, tools, equipment, and instructional materials necessary to support the learning activities of the program.
• Maintain inventory and repair records, and ensure the safe and proper operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Maintain an Advisory Board and keep records of meeting notices, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes.
• Remain informed of new trends, methods, materials, tools, and equipment in content area.
• Actively participate in all professional development activities as required by Kansas City Public Schools.
• Integrate Career & Technical Student Organization (C.T.S.O.) leadership activities into the area of content.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4000) hours of department-approved, closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years or 60 Credit Hours or Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5000) hours of department-approved closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years;
• Valid certificates completed as applicable (CPR; culinary, business, safety, etc).
• Hold or be eligible for a Missouri CTE- Water/Waste Water Tech Certification.
• Previous experience as a classroom teacher.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need:

• Teaching experience in an urban setting.

Physical Demands:

• Sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers.
• Bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds.

Terms Of Employment:

• Length of work year: 10-month calendar.
