About the Role

The Care Supervisor will oversee the delivery of services and supervision of team personnel, ensuring compliance with company policy and state and federal regulations. Key performance measurements include engagement and performance of direct care staff, delivery of quality care, departmental growth, and compliance with policy and regulation related to Home Care programs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and communicate the core values of BAYADA Home Health Care and The BAYADA Way.
  • Develop working knowledge of BAYADA’s mission, services, people, organization, policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise, mentor, motivate, and educate direct care staff to meet objectives for quality services and exceptional customer experience.
  • Complete a written evaluation of each personal care aide’s (PCA) performance at least annually.
  • Provide on-site supervisory visits in client homes as necessary.
  • Identify, research, and resolve client and/or employee problems or concerns.
  • Ensure aides have schedules that allow them to work their desired volume of hours per week.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment process and collaborate with recruiters on client needs, onboarding, and training.
  • Facilitate the delivery of quality home care services by acting as a resource for staff, referral sources, clients, and internal/external customers.
  • Develop effective, professional relationships with clients and cross-refer them to other Integrity Home Care + Hospice services.
  • Respond quickly to emergent scheduling issues and problem-solve to meet clients’ needs.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Supervisor to ensure compliance with training and delegation standards.
  • Develop professional relationships with regulatory entities (e.g., Department of Health and Senior Services) and communicate changes in client conditions or needs.
  • Monitor the provision of authorized services to ensure compliance with state agency requirements.
  • Recommend innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings, company events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Represent the company professionally and courteously.
  • Comply with HIPAA policies and maintain confidentiality of patient and family information.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of experience with direct care of the elderly, disabled, or infirm.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, adapt to abrupt schedule changes, and maintain objectivity when working with acute, chronic, and terminally ill patients.
  • Mature demeanor with a sympathetic attitude toward elderly and disabled consumers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with initiative, strong time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable software systems.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, family members, healthcare providers, community organizations, law enforcement, government agencies, and the public.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel as needed.
  • Acceptable pre-employment assessment results.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
