About the role
The Care Services Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and directing the work of the Assisted Living staff, ensuring that resident needs are met according to federal and state regulations as well as company policy.
Responsibilities
- Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
- Follows all safety procedures and assures all staff does as well.
- Supervises all activities of Assisted Living to assure quality care.
- Ensures 24-hour provision of nursing services within Assisted Living.
- Carefully coordinates and performs resident assessment and plan of care evaluations to ensure residents are at the appropriate level of care and services.
- Consults with DON and/or Director of Health Services for professional assistance.
- Completes rounds as necessary; responds to medical alert calls as required.
- Orients new staff to ensure quality of care for residents; dispenses work assignments and assures completion before end of shift.
- Is responsible for completing performance appraisals timely as well as coaching and counseling of residential care staff.
- Keeps proper resident care documentation and ensures charts are in order; maintains required documentation as per Federal, State and Company Policy.
- Acts as liaison between family, residents, and physicians.
- Supervises the health care services and programs to residents.
- Captures resident admissions and transfers with other departments and/or community agencies.
- Supervises and participates in resident interdisciplinary care plan conferences.
- Supervises documentation in resident health records and reviews scheduled audits.
- Participates in budget planning and monitoring of fee scheduling and charging for services and cost effective utilization of resources.
- Promotes stimulation, uplifting, and comfortable environments for residents, families, and staff.
Requirements
- Current licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing or California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians;
- Experience in long-term care community health, geriatric, and/or rehabilitative nursing desirable;
- 5 years’ experience working in a senior community and have supervisory experience.
Qualifications
- Current licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing or California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians;
- Experience in long-term care community health, geriatric, and/or rehabilitative nursing desirable;
- 5 years’ experience working in a senior community;
- 1 year long-term care, geriatric, and/or rehabilitative nurse;
- 1 year supervisory experience.
