About the role
Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Care Partner to join the Adult Float Pool. This role offers flexibility and exposure to various patient populations and clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Facilitate efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
- Serve as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
- Maintain supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.
- Assist with day to day delivery of patient care.
- Support unit operations and patient flow.
- Administer Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Take and record vital signs.
- Perform lab draws.
- Conduct acute checks.
- Place Foley catheters and perform straight catheterizations.
- Coming soon: Assist with wound care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
- One of the following:
- Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical).
- Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required).
- Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
- Additional Float Pool Qualifications:
- 2+ years of recent (within the last 6 months) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
- Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
- Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
- Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
- Shifts Available:
- Full-Time Day Shift - 6:45 am - 7:15 pm (three 12-hour shifts/week).
- Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week).
