About the role

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Care Partner to join the Adult Float Pool. This role offers flexibility and exposure to various patient populations and clinical settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Facilitate efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
  • Serve as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
  • Maintain supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.
  • Assist with day to day delivery of patient care.
  • Support unit operations and patient flow.
  • Administer Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Take and record vital signs.
  • Perform lab draws.
  • Conduct acute checks.
  • Place Foley catheters and perform straight catheterizations.
  • Coming soon: Assist with wound care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
  • One of the following:
    • Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical).
    • Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required).
    • Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
  • Additional Float Pool Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of recent (within the last 6 months) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
    • Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
    • Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
  • Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) direct patient care in a hospital environment.
  • Shifts Available:
    • Full-Time Day Shift - 6:45 am - 7:15 pm (three 12-hour shifts/week).
    • Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week).
