Care Coordinator - Imaging Services- Atrium Health Floyd

About the role

This position assists providers with coordinating referrals and scheduling appointments for patients related to Imaging Screening Programs through interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Completes referrals for patients and coordinates with referring and receiving practices/departments.
• Confirms patient eligibility for screening exams through pertinent screening guideline requirements, completes screening orders, and schedules screening.
• Coincides and prepares financial estimates for patients as needed.
• Obtains insurance authorizations as needed.
• Coincides and schedules procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services within various departments with internal and ancillary providers.
• Reviews, schedules, and confirms schedules are accurate and time is properly allocated.
• Follows up on all referrals to ensure no care gaps.
• Available to help with promotion activities (i.e. health fairs, outreach, and information sessions).
• Participates on committees and special task forces as requested.
• Conducts patient interviews, vital sign recording, and meticulous documentation.
• Sets up examination rooms and complies with infection prevention policies.
• Coincides clinic and provider schedules.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Thorough understanding of Insurance coverage (FSC/Coverage/Plan types) and Medical Necessity policies for pertinent screening and diagnostic exams and procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of medical records software preferred.
• Customer service experience required.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant.

Skills

• Computer experience required.

Pay

$21.85 - $32.80 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8-430 with the occasional early/late or weekend shift for events.
