Care Coordinator - Imaging Services- Atrium Health Floyd

Major Responsibilities

• Completes referrals for patients and coordinates with referring and receiving practices/departments.
• Confirms patient eligibility for screening exams through pertinent screening guideline requirements, completes screening orders, and schedules screenings.
• Coordinates and prepares financial estimates for patients as needed.
• Obtains insurance authorizations as needed.
• Collaborates with internal and ancillary providers to coordinate and schedule procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services within various departments.
• Reviews, schedules, and confirms schedules are accurate and time is properly allocated.
• Follows up on all referrals to ensure no care gaps.
• Available to help with promotion activities (i.e., health fairs, outreach, and information sessions).
• Participates on committees and special task forces as requested.
• Conducts patient interviews, vital sign recording, and meticulous documentation.
• Sets up examination rooms and complies with infection prevention policies.
• Coordinates clinic and provider schedules.

Minimum Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Thorough understanding of Insurance coverage (FSC/Coverage/Plan types) and Medical Necessity policies for pertinent screening and diagnostic exams and procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of medical records software preferred.
• Customer service experience required.
