Care Coordinator Auth Scheduling Specialist

About the role

This position plays a crucial role in managing wound care referrals and coordinating patient care across various departments.

Responsibilities

• Completes referrals for patients and coordinates with referring and receiving practices and/or departments.
• Makes financial estimates for patients and obtains necessary authorizations.
• Directs patients to providers in their insurance plan and reviews benefits.
• Educates patients on insurance coverage and coordinates and schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services.
• Reviews and confirms schedules for accuracy and proper allocation of time.
• Fulfills follow-up tasks to ensure no care gaps exist.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Computer experience required.
• Thorough understanding of insurance coverage and medical necessity policies preferred.
• Knowledge of medical records software preferred.
• Customer service experience required.

Pay

$20.80 - $31.20 per hour based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
