Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Associate - Locum Tenens

About the Role

This role involves providing cardiothoracic surgery coverage in both inpatient and clinic settings. The clinician will perform procedures such as endoscopic vein harvesting, first assisting, and sternal chest closure, with a preference for CVICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage an estimated 10-20 adult patients per shift and 4-6 consults daily
• Document clinical care accurately in EPIC EMR
• Maintain prescriptive authority
• Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic surgical care
• Perform surgical procedures including endoscopic vein harvesting and chest closure
• Collaborate with on-site APP support staff

Requirements

• Minimum 4-5 years of cardiac surgery OR experience
• Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting
• Prescriptive authority
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Ability to manage 10-20 patients and 4-6 consults per day

Schedule

• Day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in clinics
• Day shifts from 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM in hospitals
• No call duties
