Job Description
Performs treatments and evaluates effectiveness of interventions according to policy and training. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies within the bounds of the applicable scope of practice for Cardiovascular Invasive Technologists and Radiologic Technologists. Verifies orders and facilitates implementation, communicating with physicians as needed. Facilitates timely patient throughput. Produces accurately written, promptly completed medical records for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the invasive procedure and patient clinical conditions. Maintains authenticity and security of medical records, following prescribed processes for amending documents.
- Performs effectively in circulating and monitoring roles required in a therapeutic cardiac catheterization laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals Scope of Practice.
- Proficiently performs all cardiac and vascular procedures allowed in an AHCA Level I or Level II Cardiovascular Services licensed facility.
- May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing with approved competency and documented proof at the highest level of academic achievement.
- Participates in quality and performance improvement activities to improve patient outcomes, accurately documenting and monitoring activities as needed.
- Participates in unit/service line budgeting processes to ensure a cost-effective, quality-focused environment.
- Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation [Required]
- Up-to-date knowledge of Cardiovascular-related organ anatomy [Required]
- Up-to-date knowledge of vascular-related organ anatomy [Required]
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
- Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment [Required]
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
