About the role
As a Cardiologist at Vernon Health, you will provide expert clinical oversight and support for the cardiovascular service line in a rural health organization. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a modern medical office building clinic setting and surgical suites while helping advance Vernon Health’s mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and expanding a non-invasive cardiology program focused on meeting the healthcare needs of patients and communities throughout Viroqua, Vernon County, and the Driftless Region.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.
- Interpret non-invasive cardiology diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac monitors, and other diagnostic tools to determine the best course of care.
- Provide cardiology consultation for inpatient care as needed.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, nursing services, and well-established diagnostic and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation departments.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with Vernon Health standards.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and completion of an accredited cardiology residency program.
- Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology.
- Valid Wisconsin medical license (or ability to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
