Cardiac Ultrasonographer Days
Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. With 632 beds, it is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. The hospital is verified as a Level II trauma center and accredited by the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center, known for clinical excellence and innovation in orthopedics, neuroscience, women’s health, heart and vascular, and cancer care.
About the role
Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of:
- Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode
- Trans esophageal, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms
- Saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients
Provide instruction to medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.
This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required.
Requirements
- Required associate's degree or equivalent
- Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent
- Minimal experience as gained at student level
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC American Red Cross (upon hire)
- One of the following credentials (1 year required):
- CRT-Sonographer (S) – ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (EXCLUDE Cardiac)
- CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) – ARDMS (EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular)
- CRT-Abdomen (AB) – ARDMS (EXCLUDES Cardiac, Vascular)
- CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) – ARDMS (EXCLUDES Cardiac, Vascular)
- CRT-Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) – ARDMS (Cardiac)
- CRT-Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) – Cardiac
- CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) – ARDMS (within 1 year of hire required for Vascular Department)
