Ultrasonographer Days

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. With 632 beds, it is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. The hospital is verified as a Level II trauma center and accredited as a primary stroke center, known for clinical excellence and innovation in orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart and vascular, and cancer care.

About the role

Under site-designated leadership and according to established policies and procedures, performs accurate and efficient ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation. Follows Corewell Health’s philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC upon hire.
• One of the following credentials required:
  • ARDMS Sonographer (S) – 1 year (excludes Cardiac).
  • ARDMS Breast Sonographer (BS) – 1 year (excludes Cardiac, General, Vascular).
  • ARDMS Abdomen (AB) – 1 year (excludes Cardiac, Vascular).
  • ARDMS Ob/Gyn (OB) – 1 year (excludes Cardiac, Vascular).
  • ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – 1 year (Cardiac).
  • Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) – 1 year (Cardiac).
• ARDMS Vascular Technologist (VT) certification required within 1 year of hire for Vascular Department.

Schedule

• Full-time, day shift.
• Weekly scheduled hours: 40.
• Hours of work: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
• Weekend frequency: Every other weekend.
