Ultrasonographer Days

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Corewell Health doctors on faculty.

About the role

Under site designate leader, and according to established policies and procedures, performs accurate and efficient Ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation. Follows Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent
• Minimal experience as gained at student level
• Required certifications (must be obtained upon hire or within specified timeframe):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC
  • Sonographer (S) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac) - 1 Year required
  • Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac, General, Vascular) - 1 Year required
  • Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac, Vascular) - 1 Year required
  • Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac, Vascular) - 1 Year required
  • Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS (Cardiac) - 1 Year required
  • Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) - 1 Year required
  • Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS (required within 1 year of hire for Vascular Department)
