Cardiac Sonographer Days

About the Role

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of:

• Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode
• Trans esophageal echocardiograms
• Exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms
• Saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients

Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.

This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required.

Requirements

• Required associate's degree or equivalent
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire
• One of the following credentials with 1 year of experience:
  • Sonographer (S) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac)
  • Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac, General, Vascular)
  • Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac and Vascular)
  • Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS (Excludes Cardiac and Vascular)
  • Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS (Cardiac)
  • Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) - CCI (Cardiac)
• Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS certification within 1 year of hire (required for Vascular Department)

Schedule

• Full time, day shift
• 40 hours per week
• Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Days worked: Monday to Friday
• Weekend frequency: Variable weekends
