Cardiac Intermediate Care Registered Nurse

Cardiac Surgical IMC RN Provide post-operative care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients in a fast-paced intermediate care unit. Closely monitor hemodynamic status and telemetry, manage chest tubes, drips, and complex wounds, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Key Duties Perform thorough patient assessments and continuous monitoring.Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions for post-operative cardiac/thoracic needs.Manage complex devices and therapies, including chest tubes and infusions.Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.Communicate clearly and coordinate care with surgeons, intensivists, and ancillary teams.Support patient- and family-centered care, quality, and safety initiatives.Mentor and support newer staff; contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused environment. Qualifications/Skills Strong critical care and intermediate-level nursing skills.Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and telemetry interpretation.Experience managing post-operative cardiothoracic devices and complex wounds.Excellent assessment, prioritization, and rapid response capabilities.Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to mentor others.Accurate, timely EHR documentation and attention to detail.
