Car Wash Attendant

About the role

Part-time position responsible for greeting customers, answering questions, explaining wash options, assisting customers at pay stations, guiding vehicles into the wash tunnel, and maintaining the car wash facility.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions, and explain wash options
• Assist every customer at the pay stations
• Field customer inquiries
• Guide customer vehicles into the wash tunnel
• Perform cleaning tasks such as taking out garbage, sweeping the lot, and using a pressure washer to clean the wash bay
• Follow opening/closing procedures
• Conduct basic/light troubleshooting of daily duties

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills including active listening
• Excellent sales and customer service skills
• Ability to anticipate customer needs
• Ability to recommend different wash memberships to customers
• Ability to work as a team
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn a point of sales system
• Strong work ethic and professional attitude

Experience

Customer service and some sales experience preferred.

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand and walk throughout the workday, use hands and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stop, crouch, and kneel. The employee must be able to work in damp, humid, and outdoor variable weather conditions, lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and occasionally up to 50 lbs, and work in noisy environments.

Working Environment

This position works in a typical outdoor car wash environment. The noise level is usually moderate but can be excessively loud with hearing protection required, along with other PPE. The employee must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment such as hearing, eye, foot, and hand protection.

Supervision Received

The team member must be capable of performing their responsibilities with minimal supervision.
