Car Wash Attendant

About the role

Responsible for greeting customers, answering questions, and explaining the wash options available at a car wash location in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. This full-time position requires flexibility across days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Stand at the pay stations and assist every customer that comes through the wash
• Field customer inquiries
• Guide customer vehicles into the wash tunnel
• Upkeep the condition of the car wash by performing cleaning tasks such as taking out the garbage, sweeping the lot, and using a pressure washer to clean the wash bay
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Reports to work on time and follows the dress and appearance code

Duties breakdown

• 70% Customer Interaction
• 20% Site Upkeep (Cleaning/Maintaining)
• 5% Opening/Closing Procedures
• 5% Basic/Light Troubleshooting of Daily Duties

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills including active listening
• Excellent sales and customer service skills
• Ability to anticipate customer needs
• Ability to recommend different wash memberships to customers
• Ability to work as a team
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn a point of sales system
• Strong work ethic and professional attitude

Qualifications

• Customer service and some sales experience preferred

Physical demands

• Frequently required to stand and walk throughout the workday
• Use of hands; reach with hands and arms
• Climb or balance; stoop, crouch and kneel
• Must be able to work in damp and humid conditions
• Must be able to work in outdoor variable weather conditions
• May have to lift and/or move objects up to 25lbs on a regular basis and occasionally up to 50lbs
• Exposure to noise

Working environment

• Typical outdoor car wash environment
• Noise level is usually moderate but can be excessively loud with hearing protection required (along with other PPE)
• Must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as, but not limited to hearing, eye, foot, hand protection
• Must be capable of performing responsibilities with minimal supervision
