About the Role

Join the Financial Aid Department at Universal Technical Institute as a student-facing accounting and operations specialist. Support campus activities by handling payment transactions—including billing, collections, and disbursements—while collaborating with other service areas to ensure smooth information delivery. Assist with campus events such as Orientation and Registration, playing a key role in creating a seamless and memorable student experience.

Responsibilities

  • Guide students and parents with expert advice and exceptional service on payment processing and financial matters.
  • Streamline disbursements, including refunds, grant awards, and student check distributions.
  • Manage student payments and accounts from collection through graduation, ensuring financial accuracy and timely funding.
  • Oversee inventory control for student store merchandise and ACH transactions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate’s degree (preferred).
  • 1-3 years of experience, ideally in higher education or customer service.
  • Accounting and/or general ledger experience (preferred).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse customer base in a welcoming and friendly manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel; ability to learn other systems.
