CAMPUS LIFE DIRECTOR

About the role

The Campus Life Director position covers Allen, Hancock, and Putnam Counties schools. Key responsibilities include spiritual and organizational leadership, working with and through other people, communication skills, reaching young people with the gospel, and ministering to youth in evangelism and discipleship.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and maintain volunteer ministry leader team
• Create a strong connection between local churches and the ministry site
• Provide training materials and ministry site standards for ministry leaders
• Develop healthy 3 Story teams for each ministry site
• Establish necessary support and guidelines to ensure healthy and growing ministry at all sites
• Be an advocate in the community for young people
• Report progress and ministry updates to YFC
• Manage, facilitate, and serve in the Relational Ministry Actions (RMAs)
• Direct the 3 Story Team at their site in accomplishing the standards outlined in the RMAs
• Establish and develop programming materials
• Train and evaluate ministry site leaders in the implementation of curriculum materials
• Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events
• Model empathy, humility and care for all people
• Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives
• Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC

Requirements

• A follower of Jesus Christ
• Involved in a local church and regularly attending
• Passionate about youth ministry and eager to do what it takes to advance the gospel to lost teens
• Embraces the vision, mission and Statement of Faith of YFC
• Participation in YFC’s Blueprint for Leadership
• Understands YFC’s 5 Essentials and leads through this model
• Self-motivated
• Strong moral character and of good repute
• Connect well with youth
• Well-spoken in front of youth and adults
• Manage a team of diverse volunteers
• Honors and pursues diversity of gifts, cultures and ethnicities
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Good relationship building skills with adults and young people

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred but not required)
• 2-4 years of ministry experience

Skills

• Able to get around the community and office for various tasks
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to tolerate up and down movement with bending or stooping including reaching above and below shoulder height with arms and hands
• Perseverance through opposition and obstacles
