What You Will Be Doing

  • Launch our Springfield, MA location: Ensure Alpha's three commitments reach 100+ students from day one through operational excellence in every area.
  • Conduct live workshops with K-8 students on life skills: Lead one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback exchange. Use Alpha's playbook to help students gain skills traditional schools overlook while keeping it enjoyable.
  • Drive every student to accomplish 100% of their goals: Develop personalized motivational strategies for each child. Apply data-driven methods to address resistance and maintain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success equals every student reaching their targets.
  • Coach Guides to excellence and uphold Alpha's quality standards: Leverage data to spot performance gaps, provide actionable feedback, and monitor progress. Make difficult decisions when performance doesn't meet expectations and model the campus standard yourself.
  • Execute data-driven campus leadership decisions: Examine performance metrics across staff, operations, parent relations, and culture. Identify issues, perform root cause analysis, engage stakeholders, deploy measurable solutions. Monitor each decision and refine based on outcomes.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching or tutoring students. Students learn via Alpha's self-directed EdTech platform, not through passive lectures from adults.
  • Developing lesson plans or curriculum. Alpha's playbook is already built. Your responsibility is execution and leadership, not instructional design.
  • Oversight of budgets or hiring staff. Central teams manage finance and recruitment. You concentrate entirely on campus performance and culture.
  • Serving as the subject-matter expert. This position is 80% leader and entertainer, 20% educator. You inspire, the platform teaches. Campus Director.

About the role

Alpha is opening a new campus in Springfield, MA, and we're looking for a leader who knows the local educational landscape. You'll oversee a team of 15+ Guides who coach and motivate students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No "teaching". Lots of action. Pure leadership. Your objective: make every student love school, learn at twice the pace of traditional classrooms, and develop essential life skills. This isn't a conventional Principal position. You'll maintain rigorous standards, make decisions based on data, and create Springfield's top school from the ground up. Lead with data. Coach toward excellence.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master's preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field.
  • Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority.
  • Deep knowledge of the Springfield, MA education landscape. Experience working with youth ages 5 - 14.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
  • Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch.
  • Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff.
  • Able to relate to K-8 students, understand their interests and culture, and serve as a positive role model.
  • Likewise, legally authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits

Immediate availability. Full-time (40 hours per week) position. Compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
