About the role

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of part-time permanent Campground Coordinator 2 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Cowan Lake State Park in Clinton County. This is a permanent part-time position budgeted for 1,630 hours per fiscal year (approximately 31 hours per week). This position will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate campground operations
• Serve as a lead worker over campground personnel and volunteers
• Assist customers and visitors with disputes, questions, and inquiries
• Assist with campground registrations and collect and submit fees
• Assist with camp store operations and corresponding POS, financial, and inventory responsibilities
• Coordinate and handle special events and programs

Requirements

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages and in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary
• Three months of training or experience in bookkeeping
• Three months of training or experience in first aid techniques
• Nine months of training or experience in operation and maintenance of park equipment and vehicles
• Valid driver’s license

Pay

• Starting hourly pay of $23.65/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 5.5 years of service, with an end salary of $28.76/hr.
• There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied.
• Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.
