About the role

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role as a part-time permanent Campground Coordinator 2 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County. The position is located at 14755 Cadiz Road, Lore City, Ohio 43755.

This is a part-time position budgeted for 1800 hours per fiscal year (approximately 34 hours per week).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate campground operations at Salt Fork State Park.
  • Serve as a lead worker over campground personnel and volunteers.
  • Assist customers and visitors with disputes, questions, and inquiries.
  • Assist with campground registrations and collect and submit fees.
  • Assist with camp store operations and corresponding POS, financial, and inventory responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and handle special events and programs.

Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages, and in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary.
  • 3 months training or 3 months experience in bookkeeping.
  • 3 months training or 3 months experience in first aid techniques.
  • 9 months training or 9 months experience in operation and maintenance of park equipment and vehicles.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.

Pay

Starting hourly pay of $23.65/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6 years of service, reaching an end salary of $28.76/hr. There may also be cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.

Schedule

Part-time, with work hours varying to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
