About the role
The Cage Manager requires a proven leader with strong cash-handling expertise, compliance knowledge, and outstanding service skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership to cashiers while ensuring a flawless financial transaction experience for members.
- Uphold strict financial security and compliance measures, maintaining operational integrity.
- Foster a positive, service-driven team culture, ensuring that every member interaction is personalized and seamless.
- Proactively resolve guest concerns while maintaining a professional and composed demeanor.
- Lead and mentor a team of cage supervisors & cashiers, fostering a culture of service excellence, operational precision, and overseeing daily cage operations.
- Develop and execute training programs for new hires, ensuring proficiency in cash handling, compliance, and service standards.
- Monitor performance, coach team members, and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
- Conduct interviews and perform hiring decisions to ensure the team consists of top-tier talent. Create SOPs, audit the vault, banks & paperwork, create procedures, and perform daily deposits.
- Supervise front-line transactions, specialty banks, vault operations, and high-value financial exchanges.
- Ensure daily financial balancing and reconciliation are completed accurately and on time.
- Work within internal controls to prevent fraud, theft, and financial discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve any financial discrepancies, technical issues, or guest concerns.
- Assist in scheduling team shifts and managing labor efficiencies to maintain smooth operations.
- Ensure all equipment, cash-handling tools, and technology systems are operational and up to date.
- Enforce strict cash-handling procedures and internal security protocols.
- Ensure all transactions comply with state regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and club financial policies.
- Oversee the completion and filing of financial compliance forms, including CTRs, MTLs, and other financial documentation.
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure adherence to club financial policies and procedures.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional, anticipatory guest service.
- Train team members to recognize and respond to guest service opportunities, ensuring every member feels valued.
- Oversee the presentation and organization of the cashier’s area, maintaining an elevated standard.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure a seamless club experience for members.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to uphold the prestige and reputation of Palace Poker.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- The minimum age for these positions is 21.
- Minimum 1 year Cage Management experience.
- Prior experience as a Cage Supervisor, Vault Manager.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring, training, and managing teams.
- Experience with POS systems, currency counters, and financial transaction software (Poker Atlas or similar a plus).
- Strong knowledge of Title 31 compliance, OFAC compliance, financial security, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to act swiftly under pressure.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must attend orientation and agree to policies and procedures.
- Must successfully attend and complete any and all other required training in compliance with local and state regulations, such as food and/or alcohol service certifications, and maintain such certifications during employment.
Physical Demands
- Ability to be physically mobile, and stand/walk for 8 to 12-hour shifts.
- While performing the duties, regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or carry objects, product, or controls, and talk or hear. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Must be able to work in areas containing dust, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibrations, crowds and air quality.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties, may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles from the kitchen. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions when in the dish area or walk-in cooler.
- Additionally, will sometimes be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals from cleaning products.
- The noise level at Poker Palace is usually loud.
