About the role
The Cafeteria Manager oversees the daily operations of the cafeteria, ensuring that meals are served efficiently and in compliance with nutritional guidelines. This includes managing staff, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee cafeteria operations to ensure efficient meal service and compliance with nutritional guidelines.
- Manage cafeteria staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Order and manage inventory of food and supplies to meet daily needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the cafeteria.
- Communicate with school administration and parents regarding cafeteria policies and procedures.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues related to meal service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in food service management or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of nutrition guidelines and child development principles.
