About the role
The Associate Cafeteria Manager position is available at the Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center, managed by Benchmark Hospitality. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of three associate cafeterias, ensuring food quality, production, and service standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, train, coach, discipline, and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
- Create schedules and approve employees' time, time off, and shift changes.
- Assign, train, support, and direct staff to maximize efficiency and performance.
- Coach, develop, and provide feedback to staff for growth within the company.
- Ensure the culinary team is prepared for each meal period and stations are set on time.
- Conduct spot-checks to verify recipes are followed and maintain consistency.
- Oversee incoming food products to ensure quality and proper service.
- Maintain production and quality levels of all food products.
- Inspect refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.
- Research, create, and execute new menu items seasonally.
Requirements
- Two years of supervising or peer trainer experience required.
- Three years of culinary experience required.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and OneNote experience desirable.
- Food Safety Certification required within 14 days of starting and must be re-certified as needed.
- Manager Food Safety Certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Two years of supervising or peer trainer experience required.
