Cable Assembler Team Leader

About the Role

Under minimal supervision, this position performs a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. The role involves determining and/or following methods and sequences of operations for tasks such as wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing. Continuity checks on work in process and completed work are performed, and quality may be monitored in accordance with control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies.
  • Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to specifications.
  • Performs assembly of electronic equipment such as cables, harnesses, chassis, and printed circuit boards, or mechanical assembly of panels, LRUs, batteries, and servo motors as it pertains to cable assembly.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental/prototype assemblies or subassemblies according to specifications.
  • Completes Disposition on Nonconforming product when needed.
  • Participates in production Integrated Process Team (IPT) and weekly cell team meetings.
  • Communicates and collaborates with engineering and other support departments.
  • Mentors team members in assigned cell and assists in solving technical issues related to cable assembly.
  • Performs 5S housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned tasks and supports "Clean-as-you-go" practices during the shift.
  • May train lower-level assemblers or act as a lead to direct the work of others.
  • Observes all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wire lists.
  • Extensive knowledge in specialized functions and a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of the job.
  • Good knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the position.
  • Familiarity with soldering and compression connection tools.
  • Good visual perception and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, including extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance.

Pay

Hourly salary range: $48,160 – $71,598.

Schedule

Full-Time.
