About the Role

Lead a team in completing production orders and delivering quality parts in a safe, productive manner and on time. Responsible for keeping the shop operating efficiently, managing inventory and people to reach production targets. Must be able to set up equipment, problem-solve issues in the department, and communicate with other team leads as well as engineering and management. Manage team performance and compliance with Webster's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure people and resources are applied efficiently and effectively to meet production deadlines while achieving quality and safety standards.
  • Use various power and hand tools such as orbital sander/buffer, chop saw, bench grinder, nail gun, staple gun, pliers, drill, hammer, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
  • Comply with all safety rules and standards; report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, orderly, and functional work area at all times.
  • Perform user maintenance on all machines and equipment.
  • Ensure work conforms to Webster Engineering quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments to maintain an effective interface.
  • Provide feedback to the Operations Manager to share ideas and improve operations, recommending and supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide training and expertise to the team.
  • Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints, and understand technical terms.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
  • Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process.
  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 2 years of Team Lead or Burner Assembly Experience.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
  • Able to read and understand wiring diagrams and blueprints.
  • Able to use small power tools such as drills and screw guns.
  • Able to use hand tools such as hacksaw, tube cutter, bender, pliers, wire strippers, tape measure, hammer, wrenches, hole punch, and screwdrivers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. daily.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuitry.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend, or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces.
  • Talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move upwards of 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and a plant which is not temperature controlled.
  • Inside work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
