About the role

CLA is seeking an Office Leader/CFO for its growing CAAS (Client Accounting & Advisory Services) in Pittsburgh, PA. The CAAS service helps clients transform their businesses through a collaborative approach, mitigating risks, overcoming challenges, meeting deadlines, and addressing workforce needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local Client Relationship Leaders to cascade CAAS messaging and initiatives.
  • Partner with local leaders on CAAS go-to-market strategies and respond to market opportunities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact to the Managing Principal Office regarding service level questions.
  • Engage with the local CAAS team to foster CLA’s Better Together culture.
  • Partner with Industry Team Leaders to enhance client service quality.
  • Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team.
  • Be accountable for identifying and implementing best practices related to the services provided to add value to the client.
  • Work with the client to establish financial policies and actively participate in and drive the overall strategy.
  • Drive capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
  • Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
  • Oversee longer-term budget planning and cost management.
  • Maintain oversight of budgets and present operational metrics.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years in an accounting or finance role, with deep industry specialization.
  • General knowledge of accounting software, including QuickBooks, Intacct, and Bill.com.
  • Experience in using personal and professional networks for business development and a proven track record of building and managing teams through growth.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred), with CPA not required but highly preferred.
  • Travel: Primarily in-office work with frequent local travel to/from client sites and occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings, and other business-related purposes. Must have the ability to travel to local client sites as needed.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for degrees in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. CPA certification is not required but is highly preferred.
