CAAS Chief Financial Officer - Professional Service Organizations

Job Summary

CLA is seeking a Chief Financial Officer with Professional Service experience for its growing CAAS (Client Accounting & Advisory Services) team in Nashville, TN or King of Prussia, PA. The role involves driving business development, building relationships, and supporting the practice's growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team.
• Identify and implement best practices related to the services provided to add value to the client.
• Work with clients to set financial policy and participate in, and drive, the overall strategy.
• Drive capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
• Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
• Oversee longer-term budget planning and cost management.
• Maintain financial record systems in accordance with appropriate principles and monitor the use of funds.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting.
• Cookordination audit activities.
• Build strong client relationships and become a key member of the client management team.
• Develop key external business networks and become a service and industry thought leader.

Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, deep professional services industry specialization, working knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Intacct, Bill.com preferred), and experience in business development and team management.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, CPA not required but highly preferred.
• Travel: Primarily in-office work with frequent local travel to/from client sites and occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings, and other business-related purposes. Ability to travel to local client sites as needed.
