About the role

A trading firm in Chicago is hiring C++ engineers to their low latency trading systems technology team. Relative experience in finance is ideal, but the team is open to excellent low latency candidates from out of industry. Excellent C++ experience is a must with STL/Boost, Linux/Unix, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain low latency trading systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, risk managers, and software engineers
  • Implement and optimize algorithms for high-frequency trading
  • Work on real-time data processing and analysis pipelines
  • Ensure system reliability and performance under high load conditions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in C++ development
  • Experience with low latency trading systems and financial markets
  • Strong understanding of C++ Standard Library (STL), Boost libraries, and other relevant technologies
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of financial markets and trading strategies
  • Experience with high-performance computing and optimization techniques
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
