About the role
A trading firm in Chicago is hiring C++ engineers to their low latency trading systems technology team. Relative experience in finance is ideal, but the team is open to excellent low latency candidates from out of industry. Excellent C++ experience is a must with STL/Boost, Linux/Unix, etc.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain low latency trading systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, risk managers, and software engineers
- Implement and optimize algorithms for high-frequency trading
- Work on real-time data processing and analysis pipelines
- Ensure system reliability and performance under high load conditions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in C++ development
- Experience with low latency trading systems and financial markets
- Strong understanding of C++ Standard Library (STL), Boost libraries, and other relevant technologies
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment
Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial markets and trading strategies
- Experience with high-performance computing and optimization techniques
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
