Location: San Diego, CA (preferred) | Duration: 12+ months contract | Hours: 40/week (1st shift) | Employment Type: W2 contract (US citizens or Green Card holders only) | Remote considered for exceptional candidates; preference is onsite.

About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Director, Business Systems & Process Design, this position supports the Capital Contracting and Dispensing Operations teams. As a member of the Business Systems and Process Design team, you will partner with Global Services and external application vendors to support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity.

In this role, you will identify business areas of improvement, gather requirements, evaluate, design, and implement business processes and application functionality alongside IT and business user counterparts.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between IT and business units to monitor and improve business unit satisfaction with IT, providing a single point of contact for business units into IT, making recommendations for product enhancements, and managing business unit expectations.
  • Participate in business process modeling sessions as a documentarian, co-facilitator, facilitator, or subject matter expert in brainstorming sessions.
  • Conduct interviews and perform analysis to create business cases for projects.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations for all project requests.
  • Review requirements, specifications, test, support, and training plans to ensure alignment with business objectives on projects.
  • Participate in business process management efforts to collect and analyze metrics and continually improve processes.
  • Participate in root cause analysis to recommend product enhancements or other actions to improve productivity for both business units and IT.
  • May act as a project manager on select projects.
  • Attend and run meetings with IT and business to analyze current progress on break/fix and enhancements.
  • Determine and obtain business user resources and planning for break/fix, demands, and projects.
  • Manage system testing from the business side.
  • Serve as a point of contact, alongside IT staff, for support issues, including:
    • Vetting issues with IT support staff.
    • Documenting issues.
    • Creating potential workarounds with IT support staff.
    • Recommending issue severity and fix priority with IT support staff.
  • Co-create process documents, develop staff training, workarounds, new processes, new products, and system enhancements.
  • Some on-call availability required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in an analytics and systems development capacity.
  • Proven analytical abilities and practical experience generating process documentation and reports.
  • Experience translating data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to communicate at executive levels, internally and externally, manage complexity, and make independent recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills, change management, and team-building experience.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision required for assigned tasks.
