Business Systems Consultant

About the role
In this role, you will manage the deployment of both AI products and solutions. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to identify, select, and consult on the appropriate AI technologies to be deployed. You will proactively seek out strategic business opportunities with high-level business unit executives, providing advice, assistance, and leadership in planning, procurement, provision, delivery, management, and effective business use of information systems.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with business unit clients to understand specific business processes, drivers, and strategy; identify and communicate needs and opportunities for business process improvement enabled via technology.
- Investigate capabilities of existing systems and technologies in use across the business; identify information required to support business strategy and lead development of information management strategies integrated with business strategy.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Identify current and emerging business needs and evaluate alternative technology solutions using standard methodologies and best practices.
- Proactively seek strategic business opportunities for applying new or existing technology capabilities with high-level executives, providing strategic analyses and insights.
- Develop, lead, or review information systems strategy to support strategic requirements of multiple business areas; identify business benefits of alternative strategies and ensure alignment between business and technology directions.
- Prepare testing plans to confirm requirements and system design accuracy and completeness; conduct training.
- Make recommendations to process stakeholders on approaches to achieve process improvement objectives, including business process outsourcing, application development, or adopting BPM practices.
- Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other business technology organizations (BTOs) to ensure successful project implementation and support.
- Manage relationships between clients and BTOs to ensure effective communication; broker services within Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and coordinate portfolio of solutions.
- Identify the impact of statutory, internal, or external regulations on the organization’s use of information.
- Establish organizational objectives and delegate assignments; accountable for actions, decisions, and the accuracy of proposed business process improvements and technical solutions.
- Communicate business needs and drivers to development groups to ensure implementation fulfills business requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; or PhD with 2 years’ experience.
- Respective years of demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in a technical environment or product management.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of managing the development and launch of successful software products.
- Knowledge of software development best practices.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in a technical environment or product management (preferred).
- Understanding of Large Language Models, Generative AI, traditional AI, and how to apply and select them for best fit (preferred).
- Experience working in the Life Sciences industry (preferred).
- Experience with GxP validated systems (preferred).
