Business System Consultant

About The Role

As a Business Systems Consultant, you will make an impact by driving data strategy, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives that support critical Market Access functions within the Life Sciences industry. You will be a valued member of the Data & Analytics team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, data engineers, analytics teams, technology partners, and leadership to deliver data-driven insights, optimize decision-making, and enhance enterprise reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Market Access business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate them into scalable data and reporting solutions.
• Design, develop, and support business intelligence and analytics solutions using modern cloud-based data platforms and visualization tools.
• Lead data transformation initiatives involving payer, formulary, pricing, access, and reimbursement data to drive actionable business insights.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and optimize data pipelines, data models, and reporting environments that support enterprise analytics.
• Support data governance, data quality, metadata management, and strategic initiatives that improve trust, accessibility, and consistency of business data.

Work Model

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a Cognizant or client office in Mettawa, IL. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting and may change based on project, business, and client requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Market Access Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Strategy, Healthcare Analytics, or related disciplines.
• Strong expertise in the Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical industry, specifically supporting Market Access, payer, formulary, reimbursement, and access-related functions.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience developing analytical queries, reporting solutions, and business intelligence datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis, automation, and analytics solutions.
• Experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms, including Snowflake.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visualization solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of data warehousing, ETL development, data modeling, and enterprise analytics architectures.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and master data management concepts.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and consulting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading Market Access data transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI-driven analytics solutions and advanced analytical capabilities.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and collaborating with cross-functional delivery teams.
• Knowledge of healthcare claims, specialty pharmacy, formulary management, and managed care datasets.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale Life Sciences analytics environments.
• Exposure to predictive analytics, machine learning, or cloud-native analytics solutions.
