Business Systems Analyst
About the role
The Superior Court of Los Angeles County seeks a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join their dedicated team. This role focuses on improving business operations through thoughtful analysis, effective communication, and hands-on system support.
Responsibilities
Conduct interviews with business users and stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation.
Analyze existing workflows and recommend solutions or improvements that align with organizational goals.
Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, end-users, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements and expectations are clearly understood and met.
Develop test plans and perform functional, usability, and regression testing to validate that systems fulfill documented requirements.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions, gather feedback from users, and ensure readiness for new or updated system functionality.
Provide troubleshooting assistance by analyzing reported issues, documenting findings, and coordinating with vendors or internal teams to resolve problems.
Configure applications to meet business needs and ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
Requirements
Option I: 5+ years' experience in business analysis, requirements definition, and information technology support.
Option II: Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field - AND - 3+ years' experience in business analysis, requirements definition, and information technology support.
Option II: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or related field - AND - 1+ year experience in business analysis, requirements definition, and information technology support.
Desirable Qualifications
Exposure to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience writing SQL queries.
Experience working with agile methodology.
Experience using low/no-code and AI tools.
Practical knowledge of financial systems and workflows used in accounting or finance operations.
