About the Role
The Business Office Manager at Generations provides accounting support and enforces a strict segregation of duties between the community's Business Office Coordinator (BOC) and accounting tasks. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and senior-living regulatory requirements while incorporating Generations' mission, vision, and values into daily work and interactions.
Responsibilities
- Support timely and accurate month-end close activities in accordance with Generations' financial calendar.
- Review, approve, and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor invoices, deposits, rent statements, and resident refunds.
- Collaborate with Business Office Coordinators, Staff Accountants, and the accounting team to ensure financial accuracy and improve workflows.
- Provide training, guidance, and operational support to BOCs as needed.
- Assist with financial data entry, resident inquiries, audit preparations, and coverage during staffing shortages or peak workload periods.
- Verify compliance with internal controls, including separation of AP and AR functions.
- Maintain an organized, professional office environment and adhere to Generations' policies and standards.

- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required (bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in business office or accounting functions.
- Senior living, healthcare, or multi-site experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of accounting best practices such as payables, receivables, and reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, State, City, and County regulations and tax practices, and Medicaid regulations.
- Must pass a background check and meet state regulatory standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software: PointClickCare and Sage.
- Experience with procurement software: Procurement Partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote.
