Business Financial Analyst/Estimator - recent grad.

About the role

The Business Financial Analyst/Estimator supports a diverse portfolio of programs across the U.S., focusing on developing, analyzing, and supporting cost estimates in proposals to both government and industry customers. This role involves bid strategy, strategic proposal decisions, business case assessments, customer negotiations, rate structure development, risk and opportunity management, supplier price analysis, proposal audits, and other activities necessary for winning and executing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and support cost estimates in proposals to government and industry customers
• Support bid strategy and play a role in strategic proposal decisions
• Conduct market research, analyze historical data, and develop cost estimating models and factors to evaluate price reasonableness and develop negotiation positions
• Interface with all elements of the business organization to perform duties
• Interact with external customers and stakeholders as required
• Meticulously keep records in support of future activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or STEM discipline with exposure to proposals, cost estimating, contracts, and/or pricing
• Demonstrating financial acumen, enthusiasm, and drive
• Ability to perform and apply cost accounting, pricing, and estimating concepts and principles
• Meet deadlines in a challenging, multi-tasking environment while managing multiple proposals
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Prior knowledge of FAR, DFARS, estimating guidelines preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience and Deltek exposure also preferred
• Drive for continuous improvement in personal skills and business processes
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong, clear communication skills to influence decision making and stakeholder buy-in
• Strategic and analytic abilities to problem-solving and develop creative solutions to proposal capture opportunities

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain DoD clearance
